Es la productora más exitosa de la televisión argentina. Sus programas son sucesos en la Argentina pero también en el mundo. El show de los Teenangels, la banda de “Casi ángeles” llega al Orfeo con dos funciones.
Improvisar una minibiografía de Cris Morena supondría un trabajo fácil. María Cristina De Giacomi (Buenos Aires, 23 de agosto de 1956) es una mujer que se ganó un espacio enorme en un mundo dominado por hombres… y haciendo magia para chicos.
Su presente ha opacado por completo otros datos biográficos de un pasado reciente y también fructífero, como sus inicios como modelo (imagen de los jeans Lee desde muy jovencita), sus pasos de actriz de comedia como la ascensorista sexy e ingenua de Mesa de noticias; o su matrimonio con Gustavo Yankelevich de 25 años, al que le debe sus dos hijos –Romina y Tomás– pero no sus éxitos profesionales.

Todo eso quedó muy atrás cuando comenzó a producir. Hoy, Cris Morena es una de las amas y señoras de la televisión, dueña de éxitos locales e internacionales, en un ambiente en el que los nombres de varón son moneda corriente (Claudio Villarruel, Adrián Suar, Marcelo Tinelli, Mario Pergolini, el propio Yankelevich, entre otros).
Hacedora de las más increíbles fantasías adolescentes desde la televisión, Cris acumula tantos éxitos del público como pocos reconocimientos de la crítica a sus trabajos. Pero eso no la amedrenta: conoce las reglas del juego, y las juega como mejor sabe. En el proceso vertiginoso que va desde que dejó la conducción (1994, tras Jugate conmigo) y se dedicó a producir, dio a luz a sucesos como Floricienta, las mil y una historias de Chiquititas, Rebelde Way, Amor mío, y la reciente Casi ángeles, la serie que trae su nuevo espectáculo al Orfeo el sábado 7 y el domingo 8 de este mes. “Espero que se sorprendan con lo que traemos, como siempre. Va a ser un show muy energético”, arriesga.
Cris está trabajando en las letras de las canciones para la cuarta temporada, y este fin de semana es el último de brainstorming con el equipo de autores para definir los personajes de 2010. “No tenemos demasiado tiempo porque estamos en estos días grabando los últimos capítulos de la temporada actual”, aseguró la productora, que reconoce que la serie ha ganado “una potencia muy alta” con el correr de los años.
“De alguna manera despertamos ciertos ideales de que hay algo mejor, algo por lo que vale la pena luchar. Y ponemos en la gente joven esa capacidad de darse cuenta que a partir de ellos se puede buscar algo diferente, si siguen manteniendo vivos sus ideales”.
–Es un hilo común en tus historias.
–Si miro para atrás, me doy cuenta de que desde Jugate conmigo todo tiene un hilo conductor, que tiene que ver con salvar la infancia. Lo hacemos de distinta manera, con distintos cuentos, distintas historias, distintos vínculos, y con chicos de distintas edades. El cuento de este año traspasa los límites del tiempo… Hace mucho que estoy con ese esquema, porque es lo que a mí me pasa… y tengo a todo el mundo embarcado en eso.
Nuevo modo
Cris Morena cambió la forma de hacer TV para chicos y jóvenes, y formó a toda una generación de actores y actrices que nacieron en sus programas o se criaron viéndolos por televisión. Una de las grandes explicaciones es su perseverancia. Casi ángeles parecía condenada tras su primera temporada, pero ahora ya tiene la cuarta confirmada para 2010.
–Cuando arrancó tuvo una temporada más floja, pero fue de menor a mayor.
–Todos teníamos muy claro lo que queríamos, pero había que hacer un trabajo previo: estos chicos venían de lugares muy marginales y teníamos que hacer ese proceso de casi destrucción de sus personalidades para que construyeran ese arco de personajes que tienen ahora. Fue premeditado. Además, tuvimos que pelear… o competir con una serie que anduvo muy bien como fue Patito feo, justo en el mismo horario, que dividió a la audiencia.
–¿Le ves vida como a “Chiquititas”, con más de 10 temporadas?
–Sentimos que puede durar todo lo que nosotros queramos. Puede durar toda la vida, porque es una historia que tiene muchísimo para contar, en la medida que hemos saltado las barreras del tiempo, podemos ir al pasado, al futuro, al presente… eso también es riesgoso, porque nos hemos subido a un carro con caballos difíciles de domar. Tenemos que estar muy convencidos de lo que hacemos y tener una coherencia para no perdernos en nuestra propia historia. Durará lo que tenga que durar.
–Alguna vez dijiste que “Chiquititas” fue, es y será tu gran amor. ¿Te has vuelto a enamorar?
–Cada cosa que hago la hago enamorada. Cada vez que hecho alguna cosa no enamorada quizás han tenido éxito, pero en mi corazón no ha tenido el suceso.
En mar abierto
El camino elegido fue seguro. En los últimos años, otras productoras grandes vieron en la veta infanto–juvenil no sólo un gran negocio sino un espacio creativo diferente para la ficción. Así nacieron Patito Feo, Atracción x4 o Niní, decididas a no dejarles a los productos de Cris quedarse con todo el mercado. En ese mundo de “tiburones”, como definió a sus colegas en más de una ocasión, ella encontró su lugar.
–¿Cómo creés que te ven los “tiburones” a vos? ¿Como un tiburón o como un pececito?
–No soy un tiburón, pero sí un pez que se mueve muy bien en el agua. Soy muy fluida.
–¿Es peligroso acostumbrarse al éxito?
–Hay que estar atento, porque el éxito está rodeado de luces de gas, de burbujas que no son reales. Uno tiene que tener claro cuál es el verdadero éxito: tratar de reconocerte en lo que hacés. El tema del ego, de creerte que la tenés atada; todo ese formato que tiene nuestro sistema para decir qué es exitoso y qué no es al que hay que estar más atento para no caer en la volteada del descarte. Hoy sos exitoso en dos minutos y sos un fracaso a los dos minutos siguientes.
