“QUEREMOS SER FELICES, ENAMORARNOS Y CAMBIAR EL MUNDO”
¡El fenómeno desembarcó en Tierra Santa! Los TeenAngels viajaron a Israel para ofrecer una maratón de 13 shows en Tel Aviv, frente a más de 78 mil espectadores. GENTE fue testigo privilegiado del inolvidable recorrido de Lali, Euge, Nico, Gastón y Peter por el Muro de los Lamentos y el Monte de los Olivos. “Por momentos sentimos que estábamos caminando en un libro de historia, rodeados de objetos sagrados”, dijeron. Aquí, toda la intimidad.
Es la Tierra Prometida. Un destino inevitable para los productos de Cris Morena. Por alguna razón especial (que no deberíamos asociar con cuestiones de fe), todas sus tiras tuvieron éxito en Israel. Dicen que muchos adolescentes israelíes aprendieron a hablar castellano con Chiquititas. La mayoría aún recuerda las coreografías de Floricienta. Y en las calles todavía sigue latente el fenómeno Rebelde Way, con altísimo rating y conciertos multitudinarios.
Ahora, después de tres temporadas en pantalla, es el turno de Casi Angeles. El fenómeno desembarcó en Tel Aviv con una excusa perfecta: una maratón de 13 shows en el estadio Nokia. GENTE fue testigo privilegiado de su paso por Tierra Santa. Y los acompañó en su recorrido por el Muro de los Lamentos y el mercado central de Jerusalén.
Juan Pedro Lanzani (18), Nicolás Riera (24), Gastón Dalmau (25), Mariana Espósito (18 recién cumplidos) y María Eugenia Suárez (17) están sorprendidos. Sabían que eran fenómeno, pero nunca imaginaron tanto. Aun a 12 mil kilómetros de la Argentina, en Oriente Medio, sus retratos aparecen en pósteres, remeras y banderas. También en helados y bolsas de papas fritas. “Todos saben nuestros nombres, qué hacemos, qué nos gusta, cómo vivimos… ¡Y esto pasa en la otra punta del mundo!”, dirán luego, de regreso en el hotel, durante la entrevista.

–¿Es muy distinto el público argentino al israelí?
Gastón: Para nada, porque el programa toca temas adolescentes que son universales. Por eso tiene tanto éxito en las diferentes culturas. Y encima lo contamos a través de la música, un lenguaje común para todos.
Euge: ¡Sí! El público es el adolescente, no importa de dónde sea. El mensaje es claro: luchar para que el mundo viva en paz, pero sin recurrir a la violencia.
–¿Con qué expectativas viajaron y con qué se encontraron?
Nico: ¡Fue alucinante! Mucho mejor de lo que nos imaginábamos. Las fans se la pasan todo el día frente al hotel cantando nuestras canciones y diciendo que nos quieren. Parecía Buenos Aires, porque conocen todas las expresiones: “diosa”, “linda”, “te amo”…
–¿Pueden salir a la calle sin guardaespaldas?
Peter: ¡No hay chance! La gente está loca.
–¿Qué fue lo que más los sorprendió?
Euge: Que no sólo conocen todas las canciones de memoria, sino que también hablan el idioma. ¡Aprenden por fonética! ¿Podés creer? Según nos cuentan en sus cartas, les piden a sus colegios que les den clases de español así pueden perfeccionar la ortografía y escribirnos.
Peter: Yo me conmoví en el Santo Sepulcro. Era como estar dentro de un libro de historia… Me daba la sensación de estar siempre tocando algo sagrado.
Nico: Jerusalén es un viaje diferente. Nada de lo que vi en mi vida se parece a esa ciudad. Todo tiene una historia de siglos, es como meterse en el pasado.
Gastón: Cuando me subí al camello creí que estábamos todos adentro de una película. Es tan mágico lo que pasa que cuesta creer que sea real.
–Pero el merchandising que hay alrededor de ustedes muestra que esto no es una peli…
Peter: Sí… hay hasta helados y papas fritas con nuestras fotos. Pasa lo mismo que con cualquier banda exitosa que esté conformada por adolescentes. El merchandising siempre forma parte de los fenómenos populares.
–¿Sienten que los adolescentes son iguales en todas partes del mundo?
Gastón: La adolescencia es la etapa de los grandes sueños. No importa dónde vivan, todos quieren cambiar el mundo, ser felices, enamorarse y tener amigos.
Lali: Somos un reflejo de millones de jóvenes que desean dejar al mundo mejor de lo que lo encontraron. ¡Pero ojo! No somos ejemplo, ni estamos para darle lecciones a nadie.
–¿Por qué creen que un producto argentino tiene tanto éxito en un país tan lejano?
Lali: Antes que nada, porque está muy bien hecho. Yo trabajo con Cris desde hace muchos años, y todo lo que ella hace tiene nivel internacional.
Peter: La gente no es tonta: si le das calidad, la aprecia y lo valora. Y nuestro equipo trajo un mega-show que podría verse tranquilamente en Broadway.
–Los fans son tremendos, los llenan de regalos… ¿se los llevan a Buenos Aires o los dejan acá?
Lali: ¡Si! La gente no para de regalar cosas. Siempre que vengo a Israel lo primero que pongo en mi valija es un bolso vacío para meter todos los peluches, cartas y dibujos que me regalan las fans. Lo aprendí después del primer viaje.
Euge: Nos regalan de todo. Y nosotros también compramos algunas cositas en el mercado de Jerusalén. Yo me compré dos babuchas y dos polleras.
Peter: Miles de regalos: cartas, ositos, fotos, adornos…
–¿Cómo se hace para vivir con los pies en la tierra después de una gira tan exitosa?
Gastón: Nosotros seguimos siendo las mismas personas de siempre. Lo que cambió fue el contexto.
Peter: El día que deje de vivir con los pies sobre la tierra será porque no entendí más nada… Somos iguales a millones de jóvenes, con la única diferencia que nosotros trabajamos en la tele y tenemos una gran exposición pública.
Nico: Si un día se me sube la fama a la cabeza, espero que mis amigos y mi familia me bajen volando de esa actitud. Si no, me convertiría en un pibe insoportable.
LA INTIMIDAD DE LOS TEENS. El hotel no descansa. Día y noche, con la disciplina de un granadero, los fantáticos esperan por sus ídolos debajo de las ventanas de las habitaciones. Hay 40 cuartos ocupados por el staff de Casi Angeles. Además de los protagonistas se alojan 53 personas del equipo, ¡y el resto de los rooms fueron alquilados por seguidores! “Quieren estar lo más cerca posible de los chicos”, explica Gustavo Yankelevich, CEO de RGB Entertainment. Los tickets para las 13 funciones en el estadio Nokia de Tel Aviv ya están agotados. ¡Son 78 mil entradas vendidas! Los fans, deliran.
¿Qué hicieron los chicos después de la última función? Salieron a bailar hasta las cinco de la mañana. Durmieron tranquilos y por la tarde fueron a la playa: sol, mar y mucho relax. Como tenían ganas de conocer Israel –todo lo que el tiempo libre les permitiera–, recorrieron la ciudad de Yafo. Pasearon por las angostas callecitas y en el legendario mercado compraron recuerdos y regalos. Lali estaba contentísima: “¡Aguante Yafo!”, repetía una y otra vez, fascinada por la ciudad antigua y asombrada por lo barata que estaba la ropa en los puestos, donde el regateo es parte de la diversión. “Conseguí un superprecio para una lindísima pulsera”, contó.
–¿La fama te puede quemar la cabeza?
Lali: La fama no te cambia en nada a la hora de pecar o hacer el bien. Cada uno elige cómo comportarse, y eso es igual para un cantante, una maestra, una vendedora o un médico.
Gastón: No se trata de ser o no famoso. Todos los seres humanos tienen la tentación de pecar y luchan por vencerla. La fama no tiene nada que ver con la moral.
–¿Se les acercó gente interesada?
Peter: Mucho menos de lo que el público y la prensa se imaginan. La gente no es tan mala, che. Yo sigo teniendo mis amigos de toda la vida.
Nico: Si elegimos dedicarnos a la televisión y a la música, es lógico que la gente se interese por nosotros. No se le puede dar la espalda. Son las reglas de juego.
–¿Aprendieron a vivir con la exposición?
Lali: Ahora se complican las salidas a lugares públicos, como plazas, shoppings o cines. Pero el resto está buenísimo. Hacemos lo que amamos, viajamos, y para colmo, la gente nos demuestra su afecto. ¡Más no podemos pedir!
–¿Está bueno trabajar con gente de su misma generación?
Gastón: Está buenísimo, porque compartís códigos y hablás el mismo idioma. Te criaste mirando los mismos programas y escuchando la misma música. Se hace más fácil entenderse.
–¿Es posible la amistad entre el hombre y la mujer?
Nico: Claro. Las mujeres y los hombres vemos las cosas desde distintos lugares, ¡y eso nos ayuda a abrir la cabeza!
–¿Me pueden describir al amigo/a y al novio/a perfecto/a?
Lali: Lo principal es que sea una buena persona. Con la mala gente no podés tener relación. Yo soy muy romántica, y cuando tenga novio espero que él también lo sea.
Peter: La amiga de fierro es la que está en las buenas y en las malas. ¿Novia perfecta? ¡Todavía la estoy buscando!
Nico: La amiga perfecta es la que te escucha y te entiende. La novia perfecta es igual, pero además te tiene que gustar físicamente y sentir que es la única en el mundo.
Euge: El amigo perfecto te acepta como sos. El novio perfecto es el que no te cambiaría por nadie.
